I am not saying becoming a successful affiliate marketer is going to take 10 years, because it could only take 2 months to start seeing reward. But, the reward will solely depend on the quality of work you spend on getting it.

1. Find Passion: What Gets You Up Every Morning?

First rule of thumbs in becoming a successful affiliate marketer is to find passion- or interest at the very least- in either affiliate marketing or your affiliate product. Make sure money is not your only driver. Because when the going gets tough and you aren’t making as much money as you hoped in your first month then you’re going lose motivation.

Money is your end goal, it’s the by product of your passion. So find something you love about being an affiliate marketer. Find something in what you are doing that is going to get you up every morning.

2. Only Pick A Handful Of Decent Products

As I have mentioned before, choosing the right product and only a few products is very important.

I can not stress to you how many people make the mistake of choosing way too many products to sell. Pursuing affiliate marketing down this path is not only overwhelming but not a smart way to actually make money.

When you have too many products to promote, you can never really focus on promoting each product effectively.

The best way to be a successful affiliate marketer is to sell no more then a handful of products, learn and understand your niche, and look for products that align correctly with the topic of your site. That way selling will be natural and not out of place.

3. Don’t Just Use One Traffic Source To Promote Your Product

To be a successful affiliate marketer, you should use more than one traffic source to promote your product.

There is nothing wrong with putting ads on your site to increase traffic, but when you have so many other traffic sources you can tap into, why not have several traffic sources?

At the end of the day, the more targeted traffic you can send to the sales page, the more chance you have of making sales.

A few great ways you can increase your traffic is by; Google AdWords, Social Media, Blogging and email marketing. Of course, you will need to keep track of your results from all of these sources to see what is working or not.

4. Test & Keep Track Of Your Affiliate Campaigns

When you use different campaign strategies and sources to increase your traffic, be sure to track and test them or else you could lose money.

You can use a click track site like to measure the performance of each campaign you work on and take action accordingly. Sometimes making the smallest change can increase your profits drastically and make you the successful affiliate marketer you want to be.

5. Demand For A Product Is Important

Have you researched about your affiliate product?

Before you set sail to start fishing it is always wise you understand where the fish reside, what they eat and how to catch them.

Correct? Of course.

Same thing applies with affiliate marketing. If you want to be a successful affiliate marketer, you must do your research. You must figure out if there is demand for the product you want to sell. Then find out who your buyers are.

Also, don’t hesitate to adopt new strategies- if they’re working of course- and stay fresh and fly!

    I enjoyed reading your post as you have some really great tips on how to become a successful affiliate marketer.

    I like your advice on ‘picking only a handful of decent products’. So many of those new to affiliate marketing try to promote far too many products.

    Another thing for those new to the web as a business is to concentrate on building one website to a high standard before starting another. I believe there are not enough hours in a day to develop more than one website to a level of authority, at any one given time.
