When I first started in affiliate marketing, I thought that the only way to make a lot of money was to sell a lot of things- I was totally wrong.
It’s important that you choose your affiliate products wisely and only sell a manageable amount of products so that you can really focus on them. Don’t overload yourself with many different products you can’t focus on selling because you will not make money.

People are not robots. Being successful at affiliate marketing is not about being pushy, bombarding your visitors with unnecessary hype or flashy banners that scream ‘give me your money’ without any cause or reason.
People want to be listened to. People want you to acknowledge their problems and want you to help solve them. So genuinely HELP your customers.
Always remember, selling may bring customers for a day but being helpful will bring customers for a lifetime.
3) Stop Wasting Your Time and Money and Start Tracking
One of the biggest mistakes I made in affiliate marketing- and a lot of other newbies make every day- is that they don’t track their links.
How can you grow or scale your campaigns and make more money if you do not know where your traffic is coming from? You can’t.
This is why you need to invest in a tracking tool like Click.org so that you can stop wasting your time and money on campaigns that are not getting traffic or making money and improve the ones that are.
4) Don’t forget to Test
The only way to really improve your campaigns is to get a better understanding of your potential customers and vendors follow-up sequences.
Believe me, you’re not doing yourself any justice if you do not know those things. This is why you need to again use a marketing too like Click.org and start A/B Testing. Testing will allow you to analyse which pages or marketing techniques are more likely to convert. This way you can alter your pages according to your testing results and make more money in affiliate marketing.
5) Comparing is Awesome for Conversion Rates
A really awesome tactic I learned in affiliate marketing was to compare your main product with other similar products.
When people are making a choice to buy a product they tend to have their options narrows down and need help to make a decision- this is where your helping skills can come in.
Research 2 other products which are most likely to compete/compare to your main product. Get affiliate links for all the products you are comparing. Then create a comparison chart and see which one converts the best.
Therefore, you will be able to see which product is most interesting to your visitors and move the best converting product to the top of your affiliate marketing page and make money.
6) You Must Avoid Distractions
One of the most dangerous mistake you can make is to let yourself get easily distracted. A lot of newbies don’t make money because they start promoting one product and then all of a sudden see a new affiliate product and start promoting that instead.
The key to making a lot of money in affiliate marketing is to stay 100% focused. Stick to one thing and work hard at it. It is then that you will start to see money rolling in.
